Atlantic City Casinos Begin Shoulder Season Strong, October Revenue Climbs to $234.7 Million
November 18, 2025
2025 was the finest summer for Atlantic City casinos in years. After a lackluster September, the gaming boom has continued into the fall, with October representing a revival.
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) from slot machines and table games exceeded $234.7 million in October, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). The total shows a 1.7% month-over-month increase and a 12.5% increase over the same month last year.
September's triumph dropped to just a 0.1% growth after a memorable summer in which in-person GGR at the nine casinos rose by more than 6% year over year between May and August. The Atlantic City rally was rekindled in October.
With felt revenue rising 23.5% to $60.3 million, table games drove the recovery. Additionally, slots performed well, increasing their hold by 9.1% to more than $174.4 million.
The highest October total since 2011 was $234.7 million earned on the casino floors.

iGaming Sets Another Record
Online gaming businesses are expanding while Atlantic City is still thriving. With a GGR of around $260.3 million in October, iGaming, or online slots and table games, set yet another milestone.
For the sixth time in the previous ten months, iGaming hit a new high in October. Remote gamblers won over $257.7 million from online slots and tables, and roughly $2.6 million from poker.
New Jersey's casino industry recorded revenue of slightly over $611 million in October, compared to $116 million in sports betting income, nearly all of which came from internet betting ($110.7 million). That was a net difference of $111.3 million, or a 22.3% increase over the previous year.
"Atlantic City’s competitive gaming options and first-class in-person experiences, coupled with the strength of New Jersey’s online casinos, are proving to be a winning combination for the gaming industry as well as the economy of the city, the region, and the state,” said James Plousis, chair of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.
$88.2 million was New Jersey's tax share of the October gaming revenue. In-person casino gaming brought in just $14.5 million.
Gains for the City
October showed an improvement in in-person play at all but two Atlantic City casinos. Bally's, a perennial outlier, saw its legacy GGR drop 1.2% to $11.3 million. Tropicana's casino winnings decreased 8.9% year over year to $16.1 million.
With Borgata, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock, Harrah's, Ocean, and Resorts reporting GGR improvements over the previous year, October was a bountiful month for everyone else.
Borgata maintained its lead with a 28.2% increase in October GGR to $68.5 million. Hard Rock's casino gain of $42.5 million (up 4%) kept it in second place. Ocean's sales increased by 20% to $39.4 million, closing the gap with Hard Rock.
At $17.5 million (up 11%), Harrah's ranked fourth, followed by Tropicana in fifth place, Caesars in sixth place ($16 million, up 6.8%), Resorts in seventh place ($12.7 million, up 5.4%), Bally's in eighth place, and Golden Nugget in ninth place ($10.7 million, up 6.8%).
Because of its collaboration with FanDuel, Golden Nugget is first online but last in legacy play. In October, FanDuel iGaming brought in $60.9 million. At $48.5 million, DraftKings and Resorts came next.
