After robbing a Las Vegas funeral home of a casket containing a body, a lady is being held. She threw it in the front yard because she didn't want the body inside, but she left the coffin next to the body and ran from the crime scene.

Patricia Sierra, 47, a resident of Las Vegas, is accused of burglary, grand larceny, and disturbing human remains in relation to the strange event that occurred on August 27.

According to her arrest record, Sierra said Las Vegas police she had no recall of the incident, "was not trying to be malicious, and was apologetic." She claimed to have had six beers earlier and to frequently pass out after drinking.

A woman, identified by Sierra as herself, is shown on surveillance footage from Affordable Cremation & Burial smashing a window and opening the front entrance of the funeral parlor. The next scene depicts her wheeling a coffin out the front entrance after entering the viewing area.

A person was discovered face down in front of the building at 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., and someone reported it to 911 around 3:30 a.m. When police arrived, documents they discovered next to the coffin helped them identify the dead.

The deceased, according to the police report, arrived at the institution on August 20 and was viewed the day before they were taken and disposed of outside.

Two days later, after someone recognized Sierra while she was shopping at a convenience store, she was taken into custody by the police.

A court set September 18 for the preliminary hearing and set bail at $11,000. Sierra was still being held as of Wednesday.
